Houses for sale in former prison

Buying a house in a former prison

The Noordsingel is one of the oldest Penitentiary Institutions in the Netherlands. It consists of two buildings: the prison and the courthouse. Furthermore there are stays for the wardens and five wings. The prison cells can be found in three wings: two wings were for men and one for women. Each wing contains 340 prison cells. Not to forget to mention the chapel! Located on the Noordsingel in the district Oude-Noorden. Built in 1866-1872.

Now the former prison is going through a big change with respect for its history. Walls are breaking down. The prison becomes the Tuin van Noord. The whole complex is turning into apartments and houses surrounded by greenery and open spaces where you can live, work and relax.  Experience the history, taste the freedom.

These are the hotel prices during the Eurovision Songcontest 2020

Image: Ahoy Rotterdam

The Eurovision Songcontest has announced this afternoon that the 65th edition of the contest will be held in Rotterdam. This is amazing news for the city. Especially for the hotels! Since the moment that Rotterdam got in the race of being the host of this event, hotels have started to raise their prices. Escpecially during the weekend of the Eurovision Songfestival 2020.

The hotels in Rotterdam charge around €310 per night during the big event. Some hotels even charge €2145,- for a night (breakfast included). And they are almost running out of rooms. That is big business!
