Nosey

The green Idler’s Playground (2010) sculpture in Rotterdam is by Cosima von Bonin. It is a two-piece artwork.

A Pinocchio look-alike boy sits on a tennis referee chair while bored and staring away. Meanwhile his nose grows longer until it sticks through the big green mushroom. Under the mushroom there is a bench that invites passers-by sit down.

All by all the artwork invites people escape daily life. Also that the entire sculpture is green makes it look like that Cosima von Bonin wants it blend with the area. Therefore invisible as much as possible.

An other intriguing artistic creation nearby is the Yellow Free Zone by Adrien Lucca. Of course after you understand Rotterdam’s own Idler’s Playground. Here is the location!
